YOU ARE NOT WHAT THEY CALL YOU BUT WHAT YOU ANSWER TO

Image
"It's not what they call you but what you answer to" is a quote from W. C Fields that serves as a mantra for me especially when I hear some negative name callings or tags placed on me by certain  people. There are people with mean words who will always call you or tag you with negative names irrespective of who you are, how nice you are or how generous you tend to be. "There is one whose rash words are like swords thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." (Proverbs 12:18). Some people say mean words unintentionally while there are those who say them intentionally but whatever be the case the words came out anyway.

In this world we live in, there are mean people in every sphere of life that we come across everyday; at our worship centers, work places, schools, social gatherings, the relationships we form, etc who are mediocres full of limitations trying to place their limitations on you. They will call you all sorts of names to intimidate you and bri…

SUSTAINED GLORY

Image
I was privileged to speak on Sustained Glory in a powerful event themed "Sustaining Glory in Worship." convened by a powerful gospel artist Pastor Olusegun Obaleye on the 27th of October 2019 and it was great time in God's presence. Talking about glory is vast and challenging yet a beautiful and interesting thing to talk about. It's definition is not one to easily define as it is complex. God's glory encompasses everything that we can ever think of, talk of or imagine. It is like a diamond with its many shiny and mesmerizing facets which reflects the beauty of God. It is not just something that we feel or see but of a heavy weight too of the one to whom all glory belongs. It is the heaviest, biggest or greatest thing about God. The weight of God's glory indicates all that He is  and is reflected in all that we see and behold When we understand what God's glory is all about then we would see that our lives also reflect the beauty of God's glory and in…

LIVING BEYOND PEOPLE'S NEGATIVE LABELS ON YOU

Image
We all have made mistakes, committed errors and experienced failures in certain areas of life that tend to weigh us down but becomes worse when people label or define us with such mistakes, failures  or errors yet no one is perfect. People are labelled for what they can and can not do or what they can and can not achieve  mostly due to results of passed failures or experiences. Once an individual tries a thing and fails then he/she is labelled a failure in that aspect or for life. As a single or divorced lady/man, you are labelled for having failed relationships or marriages. The woman without children is labeled barren. At work places, staff are labelled for not doing well despite the efforts put in or for one error/mistake made. This is seen in most organisations where staff are not appreciated for their inputs but if they should make one mistake or error, then they are labelled with that just to intimidate them and make them feel inferior for subjection. Only few bosses who are pe…
