ALL YOU NEED IS STRENGTH FOR TODAY AND NOT THE WORRIES OF TOMORROW 2

Last week we started on the part one of All You Need Is Strength For Tomorrow And Not The Worries Of Tomorrow where we looked at some ways to get over the worries of this life.

In this post, we would be concluding the series by looking the remaining points on how to get over the worries of life.

God said in Mathew 6:34 "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

When the Bible says not to worry about tomorrow, it did not say not to think of your tomorrow or plan ahead of tomorrow but rather it says, do not get worried or anxious about it.

Worry always breeds fear of failure, fear of death, fear of success and it negatively affects us in all ramification. It affects our whole entire body system and all we do physically.

All you need is strength to carry on for today and not the worries of tomorrow. Each day has enough troubles or challenges  of its own already to be too anxious of tomorrow.

Below are the concluding points on how to get over the worries of life

3. KNOW THAT YOU ARE VALUABLE TO GOD : Among every other thing God created, we are His priceless possession.

We are more valuable to Him than any other thing He created. "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more than they? (Mathew 6:26).

No wonder, He created us in His own image. "Then God said, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." (Genesis 1:26).

Nothing else was created in God's image except humans and He placed us above every other thing He created.

That's how valuable we are to God and just as He has promised, He will surely take care of our tomorrow and our needs.

4. KNOW THAT WORRYING IS UNPRODUCTIVE : There is a saying I love so much and it goes thus;

"Why worry if you can do something about it and why worry if you can't do a thing about it."

The above stated quote is simply the truth. You wouldn't worry about your tomorrow if you had the answers and if you don't, why worry any way?

Worrying about tomorrow deprives you of your productivity for today. Instead of working on today, you end up worrying about tomorrow doing nothing today and it goes on.

The only thing you would achieve in worrying is worrying yourself to death. Dr. Charles Mayo once wrote ;

"Worry affects the circulation, the heart, the glands and the whole nervous system. I have never met a man or known a man to die of overwork but I have known a lot who died of worry."

Proverbs 12:25 says "Anxiety in the heart of man brings depression.

Worrying affects not just physically but emotionally, mentally, psychologically and even spiritually.

It also affects our relationship with others as well as our productivity at our work place or our personal businesses.

Worrying adds nothing meaningful to you but it is rather unproductive, illogical,  harmful and detrimental to every part of your being.

5. FOCUS ON GOD'S GRACE AND STRENGTH FOR TODAY : Everyday of our lives is filled with one challenge or the other.

Today has enough troubles of its own for us to be more concerned about tomorrow.

There are unplanned and unforeseen situations that may arise for today to take us off balance.

People will hurt us or we would hurt people. Things may not go as planned or anticipated.

Failed projects, failed relationships, failed presentations, dashed hopes, challenges at work, failed businesses, unappreciated at work or under valued, losing loved ones to death and so on.

To overcome all these, we need strength and God's grace for today. We need His power for today.

Each morning we wake up and seek God's face for the day, His grace is made available  for us.

"Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for His compassion never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23).

You only need grace for today and not tomorrow. If God should provide you grace for tomorrow or for the year, you would not depend on Him. You would neglect Him till next year.

But He is sure to provide grace and give us His strength for each day as they come. Adding the burden of tomorrow to today is what makes us sink and leads to depression.

According to George MacDonald "No man ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when tomorrow's burden is added to the burden of today, that the weight is more than a man can bear."

And Kent Hughes once said "Worrying does not enable you to escape evil. It makes you unfit to cope with it. The truth is, we always have the strength to bear the trouble when it comes. But we do not have the strength to bear worrying about it. If you add today's troubles to tomorrow's troubles, you give yourself an impossible burden."

Live in today and take advantage of God's grace made available for you. God's mercies or compassion are new everyday not every tomorrow.

If your dream seems bigger than you, take it one step at a time as each day comes. Set out goals towards achieving your dream and and ensure to not let a day pass by without doing something.

Working on your dreams daily makes it easier to achieve than worrying about how its gonna be tomorrow or how its achievable in the future.

If you have a difficult boss or colleagues at work, ask for God's grace for each day on how to overcome the challenges associated with a difficult boss or colleague.

If the challenge is on your relationship, worry not about you gonna handle it tomorrow or how are going to be all alone by yourself tomorrow.

But rather trust God to help you pull through today and each day so you overcome the challenge.

Don't worry about succeeding tomorrow because of the failures of the past but trust God to pull through the presentation, exams, project etc as the opportunity presents itself each day.

I have gotten to a point in life where nothing moves me or shakes me to the point that my peace is taken away from me.

Looking unto God the author and finisher of my faith gives me more hope and assurance that it can only get better by the day.

Not every dream of mine has been accomplished neither am I where I dream of being in life.

But knowing I am not where I use to be and knowing my life is far better than it was yesterday makes me realize, tomorrow is gonna be even better than it is today .

So, I live one day at a time. Enjoying each day as it comes with God's grace that accompanies each day, tackling the challenges of the day while planing ahead of my tomorrow. You too can do it.

Quote for the day - "The struggle you are in today is developing the strength for tomorrow."
