THE POWER OF LOVE, PEACE AND JOY IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS

For most people, relationships are a source of joy but can be the fastest thing to rub so many of peace in their relationships. Peace is very vital in every relationship which can only be achieved through love leading to unending joy.

The only way we can experience harmony in our relationships is to understand  the concepts of love, peace and joy and apply them effectively in our relationships.

LOVE : Love is the selfless, giving devoted love of God and others. It's an active display that compels us to put others' needs above our own. Love honours others and celebrates truth, no matter how difficult it is to hear it. It gives up self even when it doesn't feel like it. Love doesn't allow feelings to dictate it's choices. It is hopeful, persevering and trusting. Loving people keep hatred, apathy and self preservation far from them.

Loving selflessly as a person in your relationship creates an atmosphere of perfect love which in turn begets a selfless love from the other person because no one is taking undue advantage of the other. Until we all learn to love selflessly, it would be difficult to have smooth sailing relationship.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth." (1 Corinthians 13:4-6)

PEACE : Peace is a deep well of confidence that God is who He is and that He will do what He says He will do. Peace comes from resting in the promise of God. It's choosing to work with others for a common goal instead of insisting on our own way. Peace is often unexplainable and incomprehensible, but we know when we have it and know when we don't. Peaceful people don't go to war with their actions or words, for they know that brings no relief to any situation.

When we develop a relationship with God, we would love like loves(selflessly), and He will give to us that peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:67) even in the midst of storm which will supernaturally reflect in our relationships in the way we relate with others.

JOY is a deep and enduring state of our soul that no circumstance, event or human can steal away from us. It's delighting in God and choosing to rejoice in all things because circumstances don't rule us and our mood swings are non existent. This does not mean we are always in a "good mood" but we can remain in an unexplainable place of contentment . Joyful people don't allow misery, sorrow, sadness or despair to rule their thoughts or guide their actions.

When we remain joyful irrespective of life's challenges, we help build strong and perfect relationships even in our imperfections.

Does anything about the descriptions of love, joy or peace encourage or challenge you? For to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6).

Be an expression of that love today ,so you could make the world a better place and make Heaven happy because you chose to love like God loves!
