SIR ALAYE EREMIE SERVED THE STATE MERITORIOUSLY: WIKE

The Rivers State Government says the Late Sir Alaye Eremie served the State meritoriously and added great value during his period of service to the State.

Governor Nyesome Ezenwo Wike disclosed this during the Funeral Service in honour of the Late Sir Alaye Eremie at the All Saints Anglican Church, Okochiri, Diocese of Okrika on Saturday 30th November, 2019.

Represented by his Deputy Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, Governor Wike described him as a right Christian and a member of the People’s Democratic Party for which he endeared a good time of his life, having served as Commissioner for Special Duties, Economic Empowerment and Employment Generation from 1999 to 2003.

 According to the Governor Wike, “Sir Eremie was a very distinguished patron of the Boys Brigade. “I remember him before we came into politics as our very distinguished patron of the Boys Brigade, when I was serving as the State President of the Boys Brigade in the mid-90s, he was a very diligent patron, served as a Christian counsellor and was a good mentor to the boys and girls in the Boys Brigade; we will never forget the services he rendered to the Boys Brigade”. He further stressed.

The State Chief Executive who described him as a prolific writer said “when I met him a few months ago he told me he has gone into story writing and even offered me some of his books to read and I must say, I was really impressed with the books particularly the Dialogue on Grassroots Politics, the Mind Mentor Empowerment Series, Opu Boy, Opu Girl and Millionaire I really enjoyed reading them”.

Governor Wike who condoled with entire family said late Sir Alaye Eremie will greatly miss by the State.  “we will miss him, his family will miss him so much, as a party we will miss him, as a state we will miss him, he is a very dear Elder Statesman and am happy we are here to give honour to whom honour is due, so I want to condole his dear wife, his children, children-in- law and all the grandchildren and to say that you have a good example to follow he has laid a legacy which we all in Rivers State will like to follow”.
