STAND UP AND BE COUNTED BANIGO TELLS RIVERS WOMEN

As the World celebrates the 2018 International Women’s Day on March 8th Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Mrs Ipalibo Harry Banigo has urged Rivers Women to stand up and be counted in all spheres of human endeavour.

In a goodwill message from the Government House in Port Harcourt to felicitate with Rivers Women, Dr. Banigo said:

“the time has come for women to realize that they have the inherent capacity to actualize their dreams if only they play well their part, through, diligence, hard work and self confidence”.

The Deputy Governor who urged women to work a little harder  in order to carve a niche for themselves in this male dominated society, expressed joy with Governor Wike’s  gender friendly disposition.

“Rivers Women are lucky to have a Governor with a gender friendly disposition, while others are talking about 35%, Governor Wike has scored 50% on gender so it behoves on us women to latch on that”. She stressed.

It would be recalled that the 8thof March each year is set aside to commemorate the International Women’s Day. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Leave No Woman Behind”.
