LEAD YOUR FAMILIES TO CHRIST BANIGO TELLS MOTHERS

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says Christian Mothers have the responsibility of leading their families to Christ.


The Deputy Governor stated this while delivering the Mothering Sunday Sermon at St Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Hospital Road, Port Harcourt on Sunday 11thMarch 2018.

Speaking on the theme: “Pressing On Towards The Goal”, which was drawn from Philippians 3:14, Dr. Banigo said;



“Mothering Sunday is celebrated to highlight the role of the mother in the family, their responsibilities, achievements and how they can press on towards the high calling of our Lord Jesus Christ, and how to take their families along so that at the end of the day when the trumpet sounds we and our family members shall forever be with the Lord”.

She said Mothering Sunday is celebrated half way through the Lenten period when Christians observe a season of fasting, praying and waiting upon the Lord before Easter.


Dr. Banigo, while wishing all mothers in Rivers State and Nigeria a Happy mothering Sunday urged them to continue to support the Present Administration in the State.

In a related development the State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has urged members of the Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES) to remain steadfast in the propagation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.   

Dr. Banigo stated this during the NIFES National Open Day Programme at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt on Sunday 11th March, 2018.


She described NIFES as a very crucial instrument in the work of God, noting that the theme“Celebrating God’s Faithfulness through Giving” is apt.

According to her she will continue to partner with NIFES which has existed for 50 years as a vibrant evangelical group in tertiary institutions nationwide.




Earlier the National Director of NIFES Rev. Nnaemeka Onuh disclosed that the hall mark of the work of NIFES is raising Christ-like students and graduates who with the strength of character in righteousness and integrity of heart will work in their various carriers to make Nigeria great.
