DON'T LET THE WEIGHT OF BEING A BEGINNER CRUSH YOU

2020 has come and gone with its numerous challenges and difficulties. Its a new year, a new dawn and a new beginning.

And I'm sure most of us are glad to do away with the year 2020. It's the toughest year I've experienced in my life not just personally but on a general note and I believe its same with most of us.

Even though some people had it go well for them like never before, 2020 is one year most of us will never forget in a hurry no matter how much we would like to dump it in the past.

With the emergence of corona virus (COVID-19), most economies of the world crashed and were shut down for weeks.

People's dreams were shattered, dreams envisaged for 2020 were not lived, jobs were lost, businesses crumbled or brought to a stand still.

For some who were still in jobs, they either had their salaries slashed or were not paid for the number of months the lock down was on.

Few weeks back, I watched a documentary on farmers who gave account of their experiences as a result of the lock down.

They did not just lose clients, they also lost most of their farm produce. I saw where lots of eggs were thrown into gutters because there were no people or clients to buy them as a result of the long period of lock dawn.

Farms that were once flourishing with lots of different plants became scanty due to high cost of seeds to be planted .

Then came the 'End SARS' saga in Nigeria that brought about the loss of so many lives, businesses and properties.

All these can set discouragement in people to either pick up the pieces and move on or start all over. For everyone who may have had it rough, starting all over again can be so discouraging and painful. It would seem like nothing good works for them.

But by God's special grace, we have been brought into a new year, a new dawn and a new beginning. 2021 gives us a fresh start, new hope and lots of opportunities to see our dreams come true.

We dreamed of making it big and had plans put in place. We had so many aspirations in 2020 that were crushed leaving most of us destabilized and discouraged.

But we can always start again or start small. The fact that we are alive gives us the opportunity to start all over, to dream again and see our dreams either old or new come true.

It is not over until you are six feet down. It is only the dead that can't do a thing anymore or dream dreams. But we are alive to dream and see our dreams come true.

In 2021, you have the opportunity to recreate your dreams or create new ones. We don't need to relive the past year but determined and optimistic that this year would be much better than the previous year.

Have in mind that the year 2020 only made you stronger, wiser, tougher, more resilient and determined to reach your goals.

There is a reason why you are alive to see 2021 despite the calamities, difficulties and challenges of the previous year. God wants you to fulfill a purpose this year and beyond.

Don't be scared to recreate your dreams or live new dreams. Don't let the difficulties of the past affect how you live this year.

Irrespective of how insignificant your beginning might be now, start anyway. Great things start small. My blog (www.rhodasmotivationalblog.com) for instance started small and seemed insignificant. It was like nothing would come out of it.

There have been days and there are still days I feel like giving up. Initially, hardly were there views or readers to my blog which seemed discouraging but gradually got feedback.

When I started writing and blogging, speaking wasn't really part of the game but I've been called to speak at events. I haven't really gotten to where I want to but gradually getting there.

It is from your little beginning that great things begin to happen to you. From your beginning, doors of favor and opportunities begin to open up for you.

No wonder the Bible says in Proverbs 22:29 "Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men."

You see, when you do nothing, you get no result. All you get is day dreaming and wishes. God wants to see you start the work irrespective of how insignificant your starting or resources might be.

He said in Zechariah 4:10 "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubababel's hand."

Your starting in the first place no matter how small, indicates your hope and faith in God. That makes Him step in and bless the works of your hands.

He said He would bless the works of your hands (Deuteronomy 28:12) not your idleness nor your fears of starting.

All you need is to start. Do not let the weight of being a beginner crush you. Don't worry yourself about the outcome or how long it would take for you to succeed. Just start and the rest will follow.

While there is nothing wrong in dreaming big or wanting to live big, the magic to realizing that dream is taking action by starting irrespective of the circumstance we find ourselves in or what may have happened to us.

Most successful people we see today started off broke, small and failed severally but they kept on not minding the prevailing circumstance and today we admire and want to be like them forgetting the story behind the glory.

Quit worrying about how long its gonna take for your success to begin to take effect before you get there, your major concern should be about starting and taking action.

Don't let the fear of  beginning weigh you down that you get scared of ever starting or taking an action.

If you start now with baby steps, you are gonna be in a better place by next year but imagine procrastinating till 5 years time and where you would be by then.

Start something today that your future self will thank you for. Time will pass eventually. You can either get started on your goals and make progress or keep procrastinating, giving excuses and then remain trapped in the circle of inaction.

Amazing things happen when you start putting in the work everyday. You can create the life of your dreams and success comes from what you do consistently.

Take baby steps, break every task to smaller pieces and begin by solving the simpler ones. That's how you start.

Fuel your beginning with passion, consistency, perseverance, discipline, determination, courage, resilience and see yourself scaling new heights in 2021 and beyond.

Happy New Year!
