PRAISE IN PAINS

It is so easy to praise God when things are going well and great. The truth is, we have all had days when it seemed difficult to praise God. I have been in such situations and I'm sure you have been too.

At a time like this when the world is facing a common challenge which is COVID 19, there are people who find it difficult to praise God in such moments especially those who have been affected in one way or the other.

While some have lost loved ones during this period, some have their businesses shut down for days and some have even lost their jobs. I know of few people who have lost their jobs as result of the pandemic.

For such people, the last thing that would come to mind is to give God praise yet we are admonished to "Give God thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

For those who are faced with great challenges this period especially those who lost their jobs like some of my friends, I admonish you to give God thanks. Though you may have lost your jobs but it's because of God you haven't lost it all.

See this as an opportunity to scale new heights, God is bringing you guys into something greater than what you had, a place much better than where you were if only you see the good side of it all.

Instead of feeling down-cast, dejected, low in spirit, hated and so on, raise your spirits high in praises to God believing He has a better plan for you ahead.

You've got to learn to train your mind to see the good side of every negative situation you find yourself in and one of the best ways to do this, is learning to praise God even in difficult situations.

There is a reason for everything that happens under the earth and like they say "There is a blessing in every disappointment. Your disappointment is not a dead end (Psalm 30:11-12)

One thing I have realized with singing praises to God whether in good or bad times is that it doesn't just connect you with your maker but it also lifts your spirit up.  It sets you up for the day filling you up with fresh hope and faith.

It makes you see  the bright side of each day, keeping you positive irrespective of the circumstance. This makes you face the day confidently and boldly.

You might feel like you are in the valley right now, praise God still. It might seem like your business is not going well, halted or stalled, praise God even more.

You may have lost your job due to the pandemic, thank God for the gift of life and praise Him for His faithfulness and mercy over your life because He is bringing you into a better place.

You may have lost the battle, but thank God you haven't lost the war. You may have lost something but it is because of God that you have not lost everything.

Shake off the self-pity and what seems not to be working and tune into praise then see the tension released with hope arising in you.

God does not leave us alone in times of difficulties but always with us giving us strength to carry on. He won't let you be tempted much more than you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13).

When you acknowledge God's mercies in difficult moments, you would praise Him even in pain.

There is always a bright light at the end of the tunnel. These troubles won't last because we trust in God who never fails.

Despite the difficulties, choose to move forward and not stagnant in life wallowing in self pity thinking you are not loved or good enough. As you sit in the pain, decide to praise God also.

Quote for the day - "Life is a broken thing. It's what we do with the pieces that define us." - Corban Addison
