COVID 19 : THIS TOO SHALL PASS (SPREAD HOPE AND NOT FEAR)

The whole world today is faced with a pandemic (Covid-19) that threatens our peace, economy, freedom and lives in general. It is not just ravaging the world's economy but has taken so many lives.

The Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is said to have started towards the end of 2019 in the Hunan sea food market in the city of Wuhan, China where live animals such as bats, frogs, snakes, birds, marmots and rabbits were/are sold infecting more than 50 people at a stretch.

How the virus was transferred to human is yet to be known, however, it's rapid spread is known to be from human to human through close contact with an infected person.

So far, the virus has spread all over the world from human to human infection which occurs due to close contact with an infected person exposed to coughing, sneezing, respiratory droplets or aerosols killing thousands of people, crumbling the economy of the world and negatively affecting individual lives in general.

We are now in strange times where people are socially distanced, economies are shut down, sicknesses and deaths rising to unimaginable numbers, inadequate supply of equipment, health workers/professionals and even the few health workers available work themselves to exhaustion.

And then, there is the information or news on the death toll and the number of people infected with the disease going on in the news media and on social media platforms causing fear, depression and suspicions of everyone by everyone.

There are also those who are battling with the grieve of loosing lost ones due to the pandemic.

The emergence of the Covid-19, has created three different ways people respond to the pandemic;

1. Those who are glued to the News stations, Facebook and other social media platforms out fear to get the latest updates of Covid-19.

2. Those who have cut off the distractions out of their lives and leaving normal like nothing is happening not allowing the situation affect them negatively and

3. Those who are using the situation to make money out of other people either unduly or seizing the opportunity to make money fairly.

How you respond to the situation in this time of crisis will go a long way to see how you survive it as well. Which ever group you fall into, I encourage you to be hopeful and believe that this too shall pass.

Just as SARS (Severe Acute and Respiratory Syndrome), MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) and Ebola, came and left, so shall this too pass.

If you are hopeful, you would spread hope and not despair, faith and not fear,  optimism and pessimism, inspiration and not discouragement..

Stop wondering if you would get sick or come in contact with those infected but rather trust God to see us through this trying times. If God saw the world through those difficult moments of SARS, MERS and Ebola then this is no different from what He can do.

The Bible says "Weeping may endure in the night, but Joy comes in the morning." (Psalm 30:5). We shall all smile again and have our freedom back cause this too shall pass.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 SAYS "For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but the things that are unseen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."

Right now, we see the dreaded pandemic and it seems like it won't end but if we exercise our faith focusing on the unseen (the end of corona virus) then this too shall pass.

And one day, we would look back and see this pandemic, total shut down and quarantine as a light affliction.

Psalm 91:1-16 assures us of God's covering over our lives during this trying times and just like the Israelites came to Moses in Numbers 31:49 and said "We counted and no one is missing." So shall no be missing anymore till the end of this pandemic. None of our family members, friends and loved ones will be infected or affected In Jesus mighty name... Amen.

So keep telling yourself and reminding everyone around you that this too shall pass. It;s not gonna last forever. Like every storm and challenge, it will pass too.

You might not be able to control what goes on around you on the outside but you can definitely control what goes on inside of you. Instead of fear, let hope and faith thrive in you. Choose faith over fear, peace over worry even when it seems like there is total chaos all over the world with a ravaging storm.

Another control you have over Covid-19 is taking responsibility by taking the necessary precautions. As we abide by the instructions of our leaders, we also have the responsibility of staying home and staying safe thereby keeping our loved ones and every other person saved.

Keep washing and sanitizing your hands regularly, stay home to stay safe. This way, we take responsibility  in keeping our society and the world at large safe.

I am writing this in a total lock down situation, abiding to the instructions of the government and taking responsibility by also sensitizing as many as possible through this blog.

God bless you
