EASE OF DOING BUSINESS COUNCIL MEETS WITH 13 MDAs AND 11 LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAs

The Rivers State Ease of Doing Business Council says all tiers of Government and the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies must seek ways to actualize a better business environment in the State.

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo stated this during a review meeting with 13 MDAs and 11 Local Government Areas at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, 24th March 2020.

Dr. Banigo said the review meeting which would ensure the seamless take-off of the E- Business Registration Desks, focused on procedures and processes, collections and payments in a bid to streamline and further harmonize collections in Rivers State.

The Deputy Governor who expressed the hope that the meeting would provide an opportunity to resolve some grey and conflicting areas in modes of operation, said the State Chief Executive Nyesom Ezenwo Wike approved the E -Registration of Business which would employ modern techniques.

According to her the Ease of Doing Business Council has been undertaking the training of Desk Officers from the various MDAs, noting that the MDAs are expected to nominate 2 staff on Grade Level 10 & 12 to serve as their sub desk officers and also furnish the Council with their procedures and processes.

The 13 MDAs includes the Ministries of Commerce and Industry, Education, Health, Lands and Survey, Transport, Justice, Environment, Works, Agriculture, Culture and Tourism, Water Resources, Urban and Physical Planning and Rivers State Internal Revenue Service.

While the Local Government Areas include Port Harcourt, Obio/Akpor, Bonny, Eleme, Ikwerre, Emohua, Oyigbo, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Ahoada East, Ahoada West and Degema.
