PRAISE UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS (PUSH) : PART TWO

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PRAISE GOD

Pastor Olusegun and The High Flyers Crew

Last week looked at what Praise is and how we give God praise. You can find that here. Today we would be looking at what happens when we praise God.

We were created to give God pleasure though our praise irrespective of what life throws at us. Whether things are going well for us or not, we ought to praise God at all times. Isaiah 43:21 says "These people have I formed for myself, they shall declare my praise." Psalm 150:6 says "Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord." The simple fact that we are alive and breathing in free oxygen, is enough reason to give God praise at all times.

HERE IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DECLARE GOD'S PRAISE

1. When you declare God's praise in songs, He steps into the situation just as He did for Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25-40 when they were imprisoned. As they gave God songs of praise in the middle of the night, the prison doors flung open and the chains fell off their hands. That is the potency of praise.

2. When you give God shouts of praise, He brings down every barrier that tries to limit you from reaching your goal just as He did for the Israelites in Joshua 6:20 when they were confronted with the walls of Jericho, preventing them from reaching the promised land but as they gave God shouts of praise, something happened. The walls of Jericho fell down flat for them to pass through. Psalm 47:1 says "Oh clap your hands all ye people, shout unto God with a voice of triumph."

3. When you praise God with the dance, He brings shame and reproach to all your mockers just as He did for David in 2 Samuel 6:14-23 when Micah mocked him for dancing unto his God and as a result she remained childless all her life and recorded as the only barren woman in the Bible. Psalm 149:3 says "Let them praise His name in the dance. Let them sing praises unto His name with timbrel and harp."

4. Praise God with the instruments just as David did in 1 Samuel 16:23 when he skillfully played the harp in the house of saul to the point that the evil spirit in saul could not contain the presence of God that came from the musical instrument that David played that it left Saul. Psalm 150:3-5 says "Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpets, praise Him with harp and lyre, praise Him with timbrel and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals."

Living a life of praise is the best thing you can ever do for yourself. Praise affects you, affects the devil and also affects God. When you live a life devoid of praises to God you are bound to be frustrated in life especially when the challenges of life hit you hard but a life full of praise keeps you motivated even in the face of difficulties or challenges. It boosts your faith and keeps your hope alive in God.

You may be facing some difficulties or challenges in life, and you  have prayed and fasted for so long and with all your heart, but it seems like nothing is happening or that God does not want to answer your prayers. Quit worrying and stressing about it but rather switch to praise. There are times you just lack the words to pray, in such situations, sing praises unto His name and keep PUSHING just like a pregnant woman in the delivery room pushing with an expectation.

As you keep praising God with an expectation, ensure you do it with understanding. Psalm 47:7 says "For God is the king of all the earth, sing ye praises with understanding." Psalm 22: 3 says "But art holy, O thou who inhabits the praises of Israel(which is you and I)."
Quote for the day - " Praise is what you do when you don't know what else to do."
