YOU EITHER FACE THE NEW YEAR WITH ANTICIPATION OR APPREHENSION

Image
According to the late Jim Rohn, some people face the future with anticipation while most people face it with apprehension. Facing the future with anticipation is having an expectation of how you would want your future to look like while facing the future with apprehension, is having anxieties, doubts and fears about the future. Those who face the future with anticipation are those who have already designed their lives by mapping out goals to achieve for themselves while those who face the future in apprehension are those who would be taking uncertain steps. Same thing apples to the new year as it approaches. You either face the new year with anticipation or you face it with apprehension. So many of us have an idea of what we want to achieve this coming year or where should be be in the coining year but without specific goals or design, we would end up nowhere taking uncertain steps or wrong steps. According to Jim Rohn, if you face the future with apprehension, you let others plan yo…

LIFE FLOWS FROM THE INSIDE OUT

Image
"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)

"Above everything else guard your heart, because from it flow the springs of life." (ISV)

The heart is the wellspring of life from where things flow. It is the source and the beginning of where the issues of life emanate from. Just as spring is the source where water flows, so is the heart where everything we think of, imagine and act on flow from. If the  spring gets poisoned or polluted affecting the water, it spreads across and affects everyone and everything that comes in contact with it. Same thing applies to a poisoned heart. It affects the body, spirit, soul, everyone and everything it comes across. The hearts is the source of life through which we live. Life is filtered through the heart. It harbours whatever we store into it, good, bad, evil, worries, anxieties, hatred, love, compassion, empathy, love, peace, joy and so on and we reflect what we store in it. The…

HOW FAR HAVE YOU COME?

Image
The year 2019 is fast coming to an end. For some people, every goal set has been achieved, some have parts of their goals achieved while for others, it seems like nothing has been achieved and then comes the fear of what next and how far they still have to go. If most of us should sit down and try take stuck of our lives for the year 2019, it would seem like nothing really happened and nothing was achieved. Where we are at the moment and how far we still have to go is not as important as how far we have come and that we don't give up and finish strong irrespective of what goal was achieved or yet to be achieved.

We often find it difficult to see how far we have come because what we do most times is to think of what we do not have yet (money, position, material possession, intimate relationships etc) and not what we have which gets us trapped in the feeling of not being good enough to be, do or have. We mostly concentrate on the now and future and not looking at how far we have co…
