RIVERS STATE OPEN TO MORE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES: WIKE

The Rivers State Government says the State is open to more Business Opportunities at all times.

Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike stated this during the 25th anniversary and opening of everyday Super Centre, Emporium 6 at the University of Port Harcourt, Business District, Choba on Friday 8th of October, 2019.

Represented by his Deputy, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, Governor Wike said his Administration has ensured that there is an enabling environment for all businesses, small medium and major enterprises to thrive.

According to him, Government in the last four years harmonized the taxation system and ensured the issuance of a Riv Tin Number to put an end to the issues of multiple taxation that had be-devilled businesses in the past.

He said those qualified to have Certificate of Occupancy in the past four years have continued to get it without stress, noting that the State has a lot of human potentials as well as hospitable and friendly indigenous communities.

Governor Wike who insisted that Rivers State is the desired and preferred destination for businesses said “we want more investors to come into the State; we want more manufacturing companies so that our teaming youths can have jobs”.

 The State Chief Executive disclosed that security of lives and property is of top most priority to his Government “We are not relenting security is very important to us, the recent launch of Operation Sting has shown success in stemming the tide of criminal activities in the State”. He further stressed.

Governor Wike while speaking on the importance of road infrastructure said the recent flag off of the construction of three flyovers at strategic locations in the State Capital was a deliberate move to ensure a free flow of traffic and encourage the business climate.

He commended the People of Choba for keeping the peace and congratulated the Every Day Group for the completion of the project.

In his remarks the Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt Prof. Ndowa Lale said the project has increased the profile of the University, particularly the horizon and the land scape, stressing that the infrastructure would continue to provide employment for our youths.

Earlier the founder of the Everyday Group Dr. Charles Dimnwobim expressed gratitude to the Rivers State Government for providing a friendly business environment.
