BANIGO RECEIVES TECHNICAL REPORT ON NORKPO/OGU BOUNDARY DISPUTE

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has urged the People of Norkpo Community in Tai and Ogu Community in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area to continue to maintain the peace at all times.

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Ipalibo Harry Banigo receiving a report from the Chairman, Technical Committee on Boundary Dispute between Norkpo Community in Tai LGA and Ogu Community in Ogu/Bolo LGAs, Chief Silas Eneyo during the Submission of the Report in Government House, Port Harcourt on the 10th Oct. 2019.

Dr. Banigo stated this while receiving the Technical Report on the Norkpo and Ogu/Bolo Boundary Dispute at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday 10th October, 2019.

The Deputy Governor who said peace is very key to development disclosed that Governor Wike is very particular about communities living peacefully to engender growth and development.

“We advise the community members to maintain the peace they have signed up to in the past and ensure that they do not in any way cause friction or fracas that will affect people in that area.” Dr. Banigo quipped.


According to Dr. Banigo the Rivers State Boundary Commission would deliberate on the report after which it would be sent to the State Chief Executive, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for further deliberation at the State Executive Council.



It would be recalled that the committee which was chaired by Chief Sila Eneyo had representatives from both Communities, Police, Security Services, Office of the Surveyor General and the Office of the Attorney General amongst others.
