WE WILL WORK FOR THE PEACE AND DEVELPOPMENT OF RIVERS STATE : BANIGO

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr.  (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says the Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike led Administration is determined to continue to work for the  Peace and Development of Rivers State.



Dr. Banigo stated this during the presentation of the report of three Technical Committees on Eleme/ Oyigbo boundary dispute, Obite/ Seme Lueku boundary dispute as well as the Tema/ Ifoko boundary dispute   at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, 20th December, 2018.

According to her Governor Wike takes matters of peace seriously because peaceful coexistence brings about progress, development and prosperity, noting that in an atmosphere of peace investors would be encouraged to do business while our youths would be gainfully employed.

She said although the boundary disputes were inherited from the previous Administration, the Governor Wike led Government took the initiative to stop the violence and restiveness in those communities by holding stake holders meetings which culminated into the setting up of the Technical Committees with a view of finding a lasting peace because, peace is tantamount to prosperity.





Dr. Banigo who  disclosed that the State Executive Council had approved  the report of two Technical Committees this year thanked the Chairmen of the various Committees for their, patriotism dedication and hard work.

 She reiterated the State Government’s commitment to finish all unfinished business and complete all uncompleted projects that positively impact on the lives of the Rivers People.

The Technical Committees were headed by Chief Silas Eneyo for Eleme/ Oyigbo Chief Fyneface Ihunwo for Obite/Seme Lueku and Pastor Paulinus Nsirim for Tema/ Ifoko.
