LET RIVERS PEOPLE BENEFIT FROM THE FEDERAL HOUSING SCHEME: BANIGO

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr.(Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has urged the Federal Housing Authority/ Mortgage Bank to ensure that workers in the State benefit maximally from their contributions to the Federal Housing Scheme.

Dr. Banigo stated this during the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Southern Dale Estate, Elelenwo Town in Port Harcourt, on Saturday 3rd November, 2018.

Represented by the Director, Administration in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Ben Roberts, Dr. Banigo said the call became necessary due to the fact that Civil Servants in the State have not benefitted from the Federal Mortgage Scheme despite the fact that they contribute monthly to the housing fund.

While commending Southern Dale, an indigenous organization for the bold initiative; Dr. Banigo said the doors of the Governor Wike led Administration are open to partner with private organizations to ensure that the Rivers people are decently accommodated.

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority/Federal Mortgage Bank, Hayatudden Atiku Auwal congratulated the State Chief Executive Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for creating the enabling environment for private businesses to thrive in the state, noting that coming on board of Southern Dale Estate, 360 jobs would be created in the construction of the 45 apartments, while an average of 1 Billion naira would circulate within the Elelenwo Community and its environs.



Also Speaking the President of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Dr, Emi Membere–Otaji (PHACCIMA) expressed delight that the emergence of the Southern Dale Estate would boost economic activities in the area.







Earlier, the CEO of Southern Dale Estate. Tein Isokariari had said his organization intends to change the real estate landscape of the State.
