EVERY RIVERS CHILD MUST BE PROTECTED AGAINST POLIO - Banigo

The Rivers State Government says it is determined to ensure that all children in Rivers State are protected against Poliomyelitis and other Child hood killer diseases. The Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo stated this during the First Quarterly Meeting of the State Task Force on Immunization at the Government House in Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, 27 th February, 2018. Dr. Banigo said the State Chief Executive, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike re inaugurated the Task Force in 2016 to provide active leadership to the Polio Eradication Activities in Rivers State which includes routine Immunization and Primary Health Care Services to ensure that all children under five years are reached and vaccinated against all child hood killer diseases. Dr. Banigo who said the State Government is determined to achieve at least 85% coverage for all the routine immunization antigens, solicited the cooperation of mothers and care givers in the quest to totally eradicate polio.
