EVERY RIVERS CHILD MUST BE PROTECTED AGAINST POLIO - Banigo

The Rivers State Government says it is determined to ensure that all children in Rivers State are protected against Poliomyelitis and other Child hood killer diseases.


The Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo stated this during the First Quarterly Meeting of the State Task Force on Immunization at the Government House in Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, 27th February, 2018.

Dr. Banigo said the State Chief Executive, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike re inaugurated the Task Force in 2016 to provide active leadership to the Polio Eradication Activities in Rivers State which includes routine Immunization and Primary Health Care Services to ensure that all children under five years are reached and vaccinated against all child hood killer diseases.



Dr. Banigo who said the State Government is determined to achieve at least 85% coverage for all the routine immunization antigens, solicited the cooperation of mothers and care givers in the quest to totally eradicate polio.

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says the State Chief Executive, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike  was pre destined and ordained to rebuild the broken infrastructures of Rivers State.

The Deputy Governor stated this while receiving Awards of Outstanding Performance On behalf of Governor Wike and herself during the Redeemed Christian Church of God Region 5, 2018 Administrator’s Conference Gala/Award Night in Port Harcourt on Saturday 24thFebruary, 2018.

RSG RE-ECHOES IT’S COMMITMENT TO PEACE

The Rivers State Government has again re-echoed its commitment to ensure a lasting peace and development in all parts of the State.
Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo stated this during the inauguration of the Technical Committee on Eleme and Oyigbo Boundary Disputes at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, 22nd February 2018.
According to Dr Banigo in October 2016 a Technical Committee was set up to wade into the matter brought by Agbonchia Eleme Community with complaints relating to disputes between them and Oyigbo Community after which a report was submitted.
She said this re inauguration was necessitated by additional complaints brought up by Oyigbo Community who said that part of the boundary was left out in theearlier petition brought by the Agbonchia Community.

OUR COMMITMENT TO HEALTH IS BEYOND THE CALL TO OFFICE - RSG

The Rivers State Government says its commitment to provide access to quality health care for its citizenry is beyond the call to office.


The State Deputy Governor, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo stated this during an advocacy visit to her by the State Ministry of Health, USAID-HFG and the Rivers State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDs at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Dr. Banigo said 
“Governor Wike is a health friendly Governor who wants to see that quality health care is affordable to all, that is why adequate health financing provisions were made in the 2018 budget.”

The Rivers State Government has warned that it will not tolerate any form of inter communal hostilities amongst communities in the State.

The State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo gave this warning at a stake holders meeting between the Rivers State Boundary Commission and representatives of Ifoko and Tema Communities in Asari Toru Local Government Area at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Dr. Banigo said the meeting became necessary because threats of hostilities between both communities have come to the notice of the State Government.
“It is important for us to invite you and find out your grouses because any form of threats between our communities is totally unacceptable to the Nyesom Ezenwo Wike led Government” Dr. Banigo warned.

ALL ELIGIBLE VOTERS MUST REGISTER AND VOTE in 2019 - Banigo

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry has advised all residents of the State 18 years and above to ensure that they register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card, in the ongoing INEC Continued Voter Registration Exercise in order to perform their civic duties in 2019.


Dr. Banigo re-echoed this at a stake holders meeting with the People of Harry’s Town (Obuama) in the Degema Local Government Area.
The Deputy Governor assured the People that the Wike led Administration is geared up to deliver more democratic dividends to them, especially in the area of education which she said remains a top priority.

RIVERS STATE WILL BECOME THE HUB OF MEDICINE SOON - Banigo

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs Ipalibo Harry Banigo Has expressed optimism that Rivers State will soon become the hub of the Medical Profession in the Country.
Dr. Banigo stated this in a statement from the Government House in Port Harcourt, while reacting to the installation of the Chancellor and commencement of the Pamo University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) in Port Harcourt, South -South Nigeria.
According to the Deputy Governor, there is a dearth of qualified medical personnel to meet up the WHO recommended doctor patients ratio of 1 doctor to 600 patients in the Country, noting that the entry of the Pamo University of Medical Sciences will reverse the trend.
